About us

Founded in 2012, the “Vignaioli e Territori” Association aims to promote and protect natural winemaking practices, enhancing the bond between winegrowers and their land. Today it brings together more than 100 wineries, and its richness lies in the great variety of stories and ideas, territories and hands. All of this creates a living, pulsating and vibrant movement.

Our goal is to make wines that are an authentic expression of the territory and of our individuality as farmers. Wines able to express the taste of the land where they are born, wines that grow out of diversity, awareness and presence.

Through the farming practices they adopt every day, our winegrowers build their own personal relationship with the place, the soil and the vines. Their wine is born from this balance.

Transparency in everything they do and cellar work aimed at minimising any intervention that might alter the expression of that grape, that place and that vintage make the fruit of their work authentic and unique.

We want to celebrate these values and, at the same time, help develop and promote knowledge and culture around natural wine and organic and biodynamic agriculture.

Our goals

Supporting and promoting the natural winegrower

We are an inclusive and supportive Association that helps micro-territories and winegrowers eager to share their passion for natural wine. We warmly welcome everyone who wants to join our community and contribute to its growth.

Promoting sustainable and mindful farming practices

We organise meetings to encourage the exchange of knowledge among winegrowers, and we promote and take part in courses and events that support the cultural and agricultural growth of our member wineries, in a spirit of sharing and innovation.

Organising events and wine fairs together

We are not just a point of reference in the natural wine world: we are actively involved in organising and running events and fairs dedicated to promoting the culture and work of our winegrowers.

Guidelines for the Natural Winegrower

Our guidelines are not a set of production rules, let alone a protocol. We believe that natural wine goes beyond method and style, because it is ultimately a way of life and not just a way of doing things.

We strongly believe in the idea of a movement and a community, in inclusion and constructive dialogue. What follows are some explanatory notes on “who we are” and on who we would like our members to be.

Natural winegrowers do not make natural wine: natural winegrowers simply make wine. The focus must shift from the method – and therefore from the recipe – to the person who lives by wine: the winegrower, with their ideas and everyday practices.

Vignaioli e Territori aims to connect winegrowers – those who live within the ecosystem and take part personally in every stage of production, from the vineyard to the cellar, to the bottle and its sale – with the territory they belong to.
